Job Description:

Senior Platform Engineer with strong experience in API engineering and hands‑on expertise in Kong API Gateway. The ideal candidate acts as a technical expert, designing, configuring, and supporting secure and scalable API platforms. They operate independently, thrive in complex enterprise environments, and deliver solutions end‑to‑end from design to implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and support API Gateway capabilities using Kong in a large enterprise environment.

• Implement security policies, authentication, authorization, and traffic‑control mechanisms for APIs.

• Work across application, middleware, and cloud teams to ensure reliable and scalable integrations.

• Act as a Kong subject‑matter expert, providing technical guidance and advanced support.

• Troubleshoot complex API issues and ensure high availability and performance.

• Contribute to secure, scalable, cloud‑ready API architectures.

• Deliver hands‑on implementation from design through deployment.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in API engineering and enterprise‑scale platform development.

• Proven hands‑on expertise with Kong API Gateway (design, configuration, operations).

• Deep knowledge of secure API design: authentication, authorization, policies, governance.

• Experience with scalable architectures and middleware/cloud integration.

• Ability to operate independently as a senior technical expert.

• Strong troubleshooting and hands‑on implementation skills.
